HaCES Falta

The project “HaCES Falta” aims to demonstrate the potential of volunteering in the development of personal and professional skills in young people. From Ser Joven we are very proud to have managed to involve more than 200 people in the European Solidarity Corps since the beginning, and we believe that giving the opportunity to some of the people who contributed the most in the programme to return will allow them to reconnect, strengthen the network of contacts and create spaces to create together. Specifically, the main topic of the mobility will be interculturality, so through debates, reflection groups, sessions, games and dynamics, we will emphasise the need to promote intercultural working environments and respect for diversity in all its forms. Social inclusion is a pillar of this project as it can be seen. We have to keep in mind that within youth work we are constantly moving in multicultural environments, so it is necessary to apply intercultural competences so that safe spaces of tolerance and mutual respect are more easily created. Therefore, the central objectives of “HaCES Falta” are: - to create a strong network of organisations and youth workers who use interculturality in a transversal way. - to stimulate and expand the competences of the participants (youth workers with experience in European programmes). - to resume the contacts and links of the ex-volunteers with Cantabria and the places where they carried out their projects, which will generate more motivation to continue working together. - to elaborate a document of recommendations to improve the intercultural work of youth associations or entities. - to promote volunteering as a tool for social transformation and youth emancipation. - encourage youth participation as a driving force for change towards more sustainable, inclusive and welcoming societies. - facilitate critical thinking and the solution of alternatives to the main challenges facing European society today in terms of social inclusion and coexistence.
  • Activity in Santander (Cantabria); from 30th june to 07th july 2023.
  • The main activity of the HaCES Intercultural Lack project is a 5-day seminar (not counting travel days) that will bring together a group of 28 former/former volunteers/as (current youth workers) from 7 organizations and 7 different countries. All young people from France, Serbia, Bosnia, Austria, Poland, Italy and Spain have participated in European Voluntary Service/European Solidarity Corps projects coordinated by the Young Being Association of Spain (coordinator of this activity) or in which Asociación Ser Joven has been a member.
