Methodology
The methodology of the “Poetry for Participation” project is rooted in the conviction that poetic language serves as a powerful, universal tool for communication that transcends social and political barriers. By bypassing formalism, the project creates a shared emotional and intellectual space where citizens can engage in democratic dialogue regardless of their background. The operational approach combines transnational cooperation with local engagement through a structured series of work packages designed to foster active civic involvement.
Initially, partners engage in the exchange of best practices and collaborative training to develop specific poetry-based educational materials and adaptable workshop models. These transnational activities involve linguistic experimentation and translation workshops to bridge cultural differences and facilitate understanding. Subsequently, the methodology shifts to a bottom-up approach through local actions implemented in each participating country. These initiatives employ participatory methodologies, organizing debates, interactive discussions, and poetry writing workshops within schools and local communities. This process empowers individuals to voice their perspectives on EU policies and values, effectively transforming them from passive observers into active co-creators of democratic life. The ultimate goal is to establish a lasting culture of participative democracy by producing replicable best practices that can be adapted to various educational contexts across Europe.
